![]() ![]() To get a known fixed point to measure from, you need beacons, floating radio transmitters that stay stable in water. Triangulation can be used for making maps in all sorts of ways, but the method we're going to use here is position resection: using three fixed, known points to determine your unknown location. That's why I prefer the second method, which fits better inside the tools of the game: Triangulation. Personally, I find pulling down a console menu a serious buzz-kill. If you really get stuck and you consult the wiki, you can use those coordinates to find whatever you've been looking for. If you find something cool or you're done exploring a certain sunken wreck, press F1 and note those coordinates so you can refer to them later. Under "Camera world pos" you'll see three numbers shown as (x, y, z), where X is east-west, Y is depth, and Z is north-south. You can find coordinates by pressing F1 to bring down a console menu. Here's the first way: Everything in Subnautica has in-game coordinates. You can use whichever one you want, I'm not your dad. One of them is cool and fun and the other is dumb and boring. To actually note locations, you need a coordinate system, and you have two options: console coordinates or homebrewed beacon triangulation. If you want to keep track, make like it's a '90s-era adventure game and break out a notepad. When commenters or forum posters say they want a map in the game, they usually want a way to cross off explored areas or remember important locations. Specifically that's easy to get to with the cyclops.Since there's no in-game Subnautica map, you're going to need to take some notes yourself. I'm mainly wondering where the best places are for Titanium and Copper Ore deposits. ![]() Uraninite - Lost River Tree Cove (loads of it in the blue brine) Salt - Grassy plateau (as far as I can tell it's the only thing there now) Lead - Sparse Reef (Full wall locker, I left a lot of deposits) - EDIT - may actually be in the Grand Reef but on the border between the two/ Lithium - Jellyshroom Cave (not as much as Magnetite + Gold but I still have a chest full) Magnetite - Jellyshroom Cave (same as gold, I ended up with a full locker full which I doubt I will ever use) If you put a scanner room somewhere around there you should be able to find lots of deposits. EDIT - As LF908 said below, the northern mushroom forest on the border of Dunes/Blood Kelp I found lots of Copper. It's getting to the point where I might just farm the limestone for it. Silver - Lost River (haven't farmed it yet but I remember seeing a few in the north entrance area)Ĭopper - ? - This is the one I'm having trouble finding. Gold - Jellyshroom Cave (ended up leaving loads as I already had a locker full) I made a base in the Tree Cove and there were about 5 nodes there alone. There is also absolutely loads of it in the Lost River. Titanium - ? - EDIT - found quite a bit with the copper on the border of the northern mushroom forest and Dunes/Blood Kelp. So far I've found these to be good but I'm missing some: Is there an updated list or can anyone chime in with good places to find them? It seems like the wiki is out of date for the locations of mineral deposits and lists locations where certain minerals aren't available any more.
